How to apply presets to RAW and JPEG photos

Presets work on both RAW and JPEG, but RAW will give the best results.

    Import your photo into Lightroom Desktop.

    Open the Edit panel and click Presets.

  3. 3

    Click a preset to apply it instantly.

  4. 4

    Adjust exposure, white balance, and contrast as needed.

  5. 5

    Export your edited photo from File → Export.

Helpful tip

RAW files give the most flexibility for color and exposure adjustments after applying a preset.

Common mistake

JPEGs are already processed by your camera, so the same preset can look slightly different on a JPEG vs a RAW.
