Step-by-step

  1. 1

Open CapCut Desktop and import your video.

  2. 2

Select the clip on the timeline.

  3. 3

In the right-hand panel, open the Adjust tab.

  4. 4

Scroll to the Color section and open the LUT dropdown.

  5. 5

Click Import LUT and select your .cube file. (You can also do this from the Filter panel's LUT tab — either path works on current CapCut Desktop.)

  6. 6

Use the intensity slider to soften the LUT to taste.

Helpful tip

On current CapCut Desktop builds, custom LUT import may require CapCut Pro depending on region and version — if the Import LUT option is greyed out or asks for an upgrade, that's why. Free alternative on desktop: DaVinci Resolve (free). CapCut Mobile also requires CapCut Pro for custom LUT import; free mobile alternatives are VN and LumaFusion.
