How to install LUTs in DaVinci Resolve
DaVinci Resolve has the most powerful LUT system — here's the simple version.
Step-by-step
- 1
Open DaVinci Resolve and go to Project Settings → Color Management → Lookup Tables, then click Open LUT Folder — this always opens the correct folder for your install.
- 2
If Open LUT Folder isn't available, drop the .cube files into the default LUT folder manually. Mac (system-wide, the default): /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT. Mac (per-user, if you prefer): ~/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT. Windows: C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\LUT.
- 3
Back in Resolve, open the Color page, right-click inside the LUT browser and choose Refresh (or Update) so your new LUTs appear.
- 4
Select your clip on the Color page, right-click your node and choose 3D LUT, then pick your LUT name.
- 5
Use the Key Output gain or a parallel node to mix the LUT in or out.
If Resolve still doesn't see the LUTs after refreshing, restart the app — it re-scans the LUT folder on launch.
